International Joint Master in Advanced Microscopy with Artificial Intelligence

MICROSCOM is a two-year international master’s program conducted at University College Dublin, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and University of Glasgow.

The programme offers an understanding of advanced microscopy principles, methods and techniques, as well as software and hardware development and integration.

MICROSCOM goes beyond traditional boundaries by exploring Al techniques and edge computing, along with practical projects focused on real-world problems.

The master gives a unique educational experience with a curriculum carefully selected at the international level, featuring experts from both academia and industry.

The master’s interdisciplinary training fosters creativity and leadership skills to meet the needs of both the biomedical and industrial sectors, boosting student employability.

WHEN and WHERE does it start?

MICROSCOM will start in September 2026 and last 4 semesters, each comprising 30 ECTS credits.
Advanced Microscopy with Al.
It starts with advanced microscopy at UCD, then moves
to UCLM for Al, and continues at UG for customized optics design. The program ends with a Master’s Final Project in collaboration with external institutions.

Requirements

WHO and HOW can apply?

Students must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field before beginning the master’s programme. You have till March 2026 to turn in your application using the admission form.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in topics related to STEM (Life Science, Technology, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) disciplines. CV required.

Proof of English language. Applicants must prove their competence at level B2 according to the CEFR.

Fees: a) Self-financing students from EU or associated countries 9000€/year; b) Self-financing students from other countries 24000€/year. c) If the Master’s programme becomes an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be available and the tuition fees will be fully covered. There are up to 20 scholarships per intake
